Jones’ Family Reunion

Elizabeth called me a few weeks ago for ideas for a family reunion. It was their first one and she wanted to make it special. We thought about a family tree with the monogram “J” would be really neat, but wasn’t really personal. Then we thought about putting mini flowers and leaves to hang from a tree to present the family tree. Those ideas didn’t pan out too well with the family. So Elizabeth’s niece saw the little kids I was making for the girl scout troops and thought that would be more appropriate for the reunion.

Lots of little cute faces, all personalized and Elizabeth made it a little easier and asked for the hair to be all the same color.

Needless to say, this was one order that was a labor of love! Happy Reunion to the Jones family. May they continue this wonderful tradition to celebrate family.

Collin’s 2nd Toy Story Birthday!

Some of you know, I have a hard time with boy themed parties. Having three little girls, it’s all about pink, purple, flowers, twinkles & princesses. When Collin’s mom, Achelle, contacted me about ideas for cookies for a Toy Story themed party, I had to look back at our collection of DVD’s and watch the movies with my kids to get a couple of ideas. Achelle and I thought of doing some of the toys as cookies like the piggy bank, dinosaur, potato head, but we kept going back to the main characters, Buzz & Woody.

I recall seeing one of my favorite cookie designers, SweetSugarBelle make a platter of Woody themed cookies. This inspired us to use the number two as our main focus.

Achelle wanted the addition of Collin’s name on the bottom and really completed the cookie.

Now what to do with a Buzz cookie. Lime green, purple, rockets, came to mind but nothing that really represented Buzz. Buzz has these really cool wings that we only get to see a few times within the movies, but Achelle’s cousin came up with a great design that help represent Buzz. Here’s the cookie version.

We added a third design to tie in the whole Toy Story Theme and Achelle loved the Luxor ball.

Overall, I enjoyed making these cookies! Here’s a few more pictures of the whole set.
